Prospect of Renewable Energy Vocational Schools and Organic Agriculture Teaching Factory Concept

WHY ARE MANY VOCATIONAL GRADUATES NOT ABSORBED IN THE WORLD / BUSINESS WORLD / INDUSTRIAL WORLD?

The competency gap between job seekers and industry needs plays a large role in the level of labor absorption. Vocational High Schools (SMK) and Madrasah Aliyah Vocational Schools (MAK) actually continue to endeavor to bring the quality gap between students and the needs of the business / industrial world (DU / DI), which continues to change and develop. Economic and technological developments have demanded the quality of students’ competencies that are getting better and in line with the needs of the business world. One way to close the gap is, among others, it is necessary to go through a vocational school with the concept of teaching factory.

WHAT IS THE CONCEPT OF TEACHING FACTORY?

According to Kuswantoro (2014), teaching factory becomes a concept of learning in real conditions to bridge the competency gap between the knowledge provided by schools and industry needs. Learning through teaching factory aims to foster character and work ethic (discipline, responsibility, honesty, cooperation, leadership, etc.) needed by DU / DI and improve the quality of learning outcomes from just equipping competencies (competency based training) towards to learning that equips the ability to produce goods / services (production based training).

WHAT IS A GREEN POST PROGRAM?

Based on the learning concept above, the Phoskko Green Foundation is collaborating with technology providers in the Biophos_kkogas method [Biodigester-Pyrolysis-Composter-Gasifier] to establish Green Vocational School. Green Post Foundation, A LEGAL AGENCY with the notarial deed of Ano Muhammad Nasruddin SH No. 31 as an institution WITH AHU 11434.50.10.2014-which for the last 5 (five) has held training and served as a place for field practice (PL) for students and industrial work practices (PL) Prakerin) renewable energy expertise of vocational teachers from various regions.

WHY IS GREEN VOCATIONAL SCHOOLS IMPORTANT FOR STUDENTS?

On the basis of the needs of the people of Bandung and its surroundings, starting in the 2020 school year accepts secondary vocational students to attend regular learning programs. With the support of PT Cipta Visi Sinar Kencana, a provider of renewable energy technology and organic fertilizer and more than 15 years of experience in providing machinery and enzymes for waste, waste and biomass management, it is certain that students learn and master their expertise or skills based on the teaching factory concept carry out procedures and actual industry work standards.

WHAT ARE GREEN VOCATIONAL SCHOOL SKILLS?

The areas of expertise of Green Vocational Schools include the Renewable Energy Engineering field and the Agribusiness Agro-technology field, with programmed competency expertise, according to curriculum structure as per Ministry of Education and Culture Regulation No 07/2018,

    1. Biomass Energy Engineering (3 years), Renewable Energy Engineering

    2. Organic Ecological Agribusiness (4 years), Agro Business in Agro-business

WHY IS ECONOMIC ENERGY IMPORTANT AND ECOLOGICAL ORGANIC AGRIBUSINESS?

Biomass is produced by green plants that convert sunlight into plant material through photosynthesis. Biomass can come from plants, trees, grass, tubers, agricultural waste, forest waste, feces and livestock manure. The potential of biomass energy resources in Indonesia is estimated at 49,810 MW, which comes from plants and waste. Beyond the biomass data there are still potential raw materials for energy generation, namely domestic waste. According to the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK, 2019) the amount of waste generation nationally is 175,000 tons per day or equivalent to 64 million tons per year if using the assumption of garbage produced by each person per day is 0.7 kg.

Aside from being a renewable energy material, the return of biomass into environmental ecosystems is also very important when considering the carbon cycle (Organic C) and nutrients (NPK, micro elements, compounds and hormones) for the continuity of sustainable production of food and various products for meeting human needs. The rapid use of synthetic fertilizers in the last few decades has resulted in an increase in the productivity of agriculture, plantations and forestry plants, however there is no lack of negative excess arising from the massive use of synthetic fertilizers.

WHAT ARE THE ORGANIC BASED BIOMASS ENERGY AND AGRIBUSINESS ECONOMIC PROSPECTS?

The rationale for the selection of the two majors from the two fields of expertise above is the large natural potential that has not been utilized for human welfare. At present, biomass has become the most important energy source in every region of the world (Thran D et al, 2010). Given the large potential of biomass and, on the other hand, there is a market opportunity to fill the need for healthy food along with means of producing organic fertilizers and pesticides and agricultural machinery, there is a great prospect to be cultivated (Sonson Garsoni***)
